                     Saath Nibhaana Saathiya is an Indian television drama series that launched on 3 May 2010. The series is broadcast worldwide on STAR Plus, with older episodes transmitted on STAR Utsav. The series is based on the lives of two female cousins after their respective marriages within the household of the Modi family.

The serial, although set in Rajkot, is filmed in Mumbai.[3] Episodes of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya have been recorded on location in Kutch (in 2012) and in Switzerland (in 2011).The series has been remade into malayalam as Chandanamazha broadcast on Asianet The series has also been dubbed into Telugu for broadcast on MAA TV, where it airs under the title Kodala Kodala Koduku Pellamaa.

Summary : 
              

                                Saath Nibhana Saathiya is the story of two cousins Gopi and Rashi, who are completely opposite from each other. Gopi is an orphan who leaves with her Mama-Mami and cousin Rashi. She is very innocent and is illiterate. On the other hand, Rashi is very wise and greedy like her mother Urmila Shah. The story starts with Kokila Modi's search for a perect bride for her son Aham. She chooses Gopi as her daughter-in-law. This makes Rashi and Urmila jealous of Gopi. Aham leaves his girlfriend Anita for his mother without knowing that Gopi is illiterate.

The show had taken a leap on its 1000th episode. The evil Radha throws a stone and Gopi drops here daughter 'Meera' down the cliff. The Modi family blames Gopi and they throw her out of the house. Radha had fulfilled her plan to get revenge for her lover "Umang". The story takes an 8 year leap. Rashi returns to her old ways. She is sick of doing all the house work. Meanwhile Gopi has a daughter called Vidya. Gopi now works in a school in Bhopal. Kokila and Ahem fall into depression.

Rashi's two sons Samar and Sahir are too naughty so she decides to send them to boarding school and she ends up sending them to the same school where Gopi works. Rashi and Urmila plan to get Ahem remarried so that Rashi does not have to do the chores. However nothing works! One day Rashi see's Gopi at the school and Samar and Sahir help her so that she can marry Ahem. They manage to trick her and they put a chemical in her drink so she is unconscious. Meanwhile Radha is supposed to marry Ahem. Rashi locks Radha in a room and she tells the family Gopi is Radha. They mistake her as Radha as Gopi is wearing a veil. Gopi gets married to Ahem. The family is shocked! And they don't accept Gopi. They take Gopi's daughter. However, Hetal convinces Kokila to allow Gopi to stay. Gopi stays and is trying to win Ahem's heart.

The truth is that Radha had left Meera at a temple and her name is Gauri. One day Kokila goes to pray at the temple and she overhears Radha and Tripti speak about what really happened. Gauri is at the temple at the same time and Kokila takes Gauri with her. However Tripti made them meet in an accident. Kokila looses her memory and she thinks Rashi is Jigna and the children of the family are Ahem, Jigar and Kinjal. Ahem is introduced as a business partner. Jigar is the driver and Radha is the maid. Radha then decides to get Gauri out of the house. The family goes on summer camp. Tripti makes Gauri meet in an accident and Gauri gets badly hurt. At the hospital Gopi needs to transfer blood to Gauri and they have the same blood type and they discover that Gauri is Meera. Meanwhile Radha is scared if Kokila will recall her past.
